Cafe and Restaurants Now Open at the New Godfrey Hotel

The Godfrey Hotel opened its doors in Boston just 14 months ago, in February 2016. The four-star boutique hotel is located in the Downtown Crossing area, just one block from the city’s famed Boston Common. Since its grand opening, The Godfrey has opened two additional dining establishments: the George Howell Café (June 2016) and the highly anticipated RUKA Restobar (December 2016).

George Howell Coffee is part of the newest division coming from veteran coffee pioneer George Howell. Beginning with his first café, The Coffee Connection, in 1974 (the chain of 24 stores was later sold to Starbucks), Howell’s mission is to provide customers with the very finest coffees on earth. Open daily and adjacent from the hotel lobby, the café features an expresso bar, specialty coffee-based creations, coffee-tasting “flights”, group education coffee classes, and more. Also on the menu are a wide selection of pastries, toast tartines, and sandwiches.

RUKA Restobar is a contemporary , high-design Peruvian-Asian restaurant. RUKA is led by Tom Berry, the COJE Group’s Culinary Director - the same group that crafted Boston culinary hot spots Yvonne’s and Lolita Cocina & Tequila Bar. The restaurant offers Boston’s first Nikkei (Peruvian-Japanese) and Chifa (Peruvian-Chinese) menu with dishes presenting the bold flavors of Nikkei and Chifa cuisines. Notable is their beverage program, crafted to accentuate the tastes of Peru.

The Godfrey offers 242 rooms and is 3.7 miles from Logan Airport, 1.3 miles from the BCEC, and 1.3 miles from the Hynes. Additional hotel amenities include a lounge bar, 24-hour fitness center, complimentary bicycles and yoga mats, complimentary overnight shoeshine and Wi-Fi, valet parking, and complimentary guided running tours.
