Congratulations to Boston’s 2019 Record Breaking Events!

In Boston we have all the ingredients to turn your event into a success. Here, unparalleled accessibility, outstanding facilities and building services, and legendary attractions come together to create a truly unforgettable and well-rounded experience for your attendees.

In 2019, the BCEC, Hynes, and The Lawn On D welcomed 319 events, of which the most represented groups were high-tech/telecommunications (50), medical/health care/pharmaceuticals (48), real estate/finance/legal (47), education (38), and professional associations (29).

With 2020 already here, we want to take the opportunity to celebrate a few of our customers who achieved record-breaking attendance in Boston last year.

Massachusetts Municipal Association (January 18 - 19, 2019)
Hynes Convention Center

The MMA Annual Meeting & Trade Show is the largest regular gathering of Massachusetts local government officials. The two-day event features educational workshops, nationally recognized speakers, awards programs, a large trade show, and an opportunity to network with municipal officials from across the state. The 2019 event brought together almost 1,300 attendees and 200+ exhibitors.

Mizuno Boston Volleyball Festival (February 23 - 24, 2019)

The Mizuno Boston Volleyball Festival is the 12th qualifier for the National Championships and in 2019 drew almost 50,000 people over two days. The festival features 90+ volleyball courts and over 7,000 players from more than 550 junior club teams and 100 adult teams.

American Physical Society (March 3 - 7, 2019)

The American Physical Society (APS) is a nonprofit membership organization working to advance the knowledge of physics. Over 12,000 physicists, scientists, and journalists from around the world gathered at the BCEC for the 2019 APS Physics March Meeting.

Massachusetts Distributive Education Clubs of America (March 7 - 9, 2019)

DECA is a national organization for all high school students enrolled in a marketing program. The group is the only student organization which prepares its members to be America’s future leaders in the fields of marketing, management, and entrepreneurship. Their 2019 Hynes gathering was attended by over 3,000 people.

Specialty Coffee Expo (April 12 - 14, 2019)
Boston Convention & Exhibition Center

At this event coffee roasters and retailers have the opportunity to exhibit their products, network with the industry’s decision makers, and further their professional careers by participating in numerous lectures, labs, or certificate programs. The 2019 expo attracted more than 14,000 coffee professionals with 31% coming from outside the U.S.

Airstream, Inc. National Dealer Meeting 2019 (May 15, 2019)

Airstream is an American brand of travel trailers which are easily recognized by the distinctive shape of their rounded and polished aluminum coachwork. Airstream holds its annual dealer meeting in a different location each year to showcase the upcoming year models to their 150+ dealers worldwide.

International Trademark Association 141st Annual Meeting (May 18 - 22, 2019)

INTA is a worldwide nonprofit membership association of more than 5,800 member companies and firms from more than 190 countries. INTA’s Annual Meeting is the world’s largest and most influential gathering of intellectual property (IP) professionals. Their 2019 Boston event was the largest in INTA’s history with almost 12,000 attendees from 140 countries and almost 200 exhibitors.

American Society of Health System Pharmacists Summer Meeting and Exhibition 2019 (June 9 - 11, 2019)
Hynes Convention Center

The ASHP Summer Meeting and Exhibition is a national meeting of pharmacists who practice in hospitals and other health systems. Their 2019 meeting at the Hynes enjoyed the highest attendance to date with 2,200+ participants, a 100-booth exhibit program, and scientific poster presentations.

LiveWorx (June 10 - 12, 2019)
Boston Convention & Exhibition Center

More than 6,500 technologists from over 40 countries gathered for the 2019 LiveWorx event to discuss, debate, exchange, and explore the opportunities being created by the convergence of the physical and digital worlds. Content spanned disruptive technologies and topics, including augmented reality (AR) / virtual reality (VR), IIoT, Industrie 4.0, product design, robotics, AI, data security, and blockchain.

American Orthopaedic Society for Sports Medicine Annual Meeting 2019 (July 11 - 14, 2019)

The AOSSM 2019 Annual Meeting was attended by 2,200 sport medicine physicians and health professionals and featured instructional courses, posters, and scientific podium presentations dedicated to the latest advancements in sports medicine research, practice management and marketing techniques

Academy of Management Annual Meeting 2019 (August 11 - 13, 2019)

The Academy of Management is a leading professional association with 17,700+ members from 106 nations, dedicated to creating and disseminating knowledge about management and organizations. Their 2019 Annual Meeting was focused on understanding the inclusive organization and brought 11,000 attendees from 82 countries to the Hynes.

Abilities Expo (September 13 - 15, 2019)
Boston Convention & Exhibition Center For over 30 years, Abilities Expo has been the nation’s leading event for people with disabilities, their families, caregivers, and healthcare professionals. In 2019 in Boston, almost 4,000 attendees gathered together to discover the latest, life-enhancing products and services and learn from relevant, free workshops.
