Boston Public Safety Experts Discuss Lessons Learned, Best Practices, and Trends in a New Whitepaper [FREE DOWNLOAD]

We’re excited to release our first white paper: Safety and Security Lessons from the 2013 Boston Marathon and the 2015 Pokémon World Championship.

This comprehensive document is based on the knowledge and experience that we have gained over our years of hosting events of all sizes at our two convention centers, and through working with the Massachusetts Large Venue Security Task force, Boston Police, the FBI, the Department of Homeland Security, and other government entities. The white paper explores in detail the lessons learned from two major events that took place in Boston: the 2013 Boston Marathon Bombing and the 2015 Pokémon World Championship, where the Boston Police and the MCCA Public Safety Team successfully prevented a mass shooting at the Hynes Convention Center.

The white paper provides a deeper look into the two events mentioned above, as well as a discussion of lessons learned, best practices, current venue and event security trends, and more. The document is intended to aid both event planners and venues in developing their own event safety and security plans for incidents ranging from medical emergencies to natural disasters, and more.
